Virtual Box v2.2! this project is advancing at full speed!

Since Sun acquired VirtualBox, it has been advancing at full speed!!

• OVF (Open Virtualization Format) support for import and export… this allows importing virtual appliances for VMware notably… it also supports VMware’s VMDK/VHD!
• it supports vt-x and amd-v optimizations
• it supports 64bit guest OS on a 32bit host OS if the CPU is 64bit!
• it supports “OpenGL 3D” hardware acceleration for Windows and Linux guest machines! this allows playing 3D games using video hardware acceleration even in a virtual machine… for now no directx 3D support but that seems to be planned… but there are opengl to directx wrappers… http://sourceforge.net/projects/dxglwrap
• iSCSI support
• USB support
• RDP support to access the virtual machine screen
• available on Linux and Windows, but also on OpenSolaris and Mac OS X
• PAE support for 32-bit guest OS with more than 3.6GB of memory!
